Gear I Use
The actual stuff I use on our five acres — chickens, dogs, and doing it all without much eyesight. Nothing here I haven’t put to work myself.

For the Chickens
Harris Farms Nurture Right 360 Incubator
The incubator that started it all. I paired it with a Bluetooth thermometer so I could track temperature and humidity from my phone instead of the tiny built-in screen — and still hatched 14 of 21 eggs in my closet.
Buff Clucks WormStop Natural Chicken Dewormer
An all-natural herbal dewormer powder — garlic, pumpkin seed, and wormwood — that you sprinkle right into their feed. Safe for all ages, and the eggs stay safe to eat.
Spicy World Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (10 lb Bulk Bag)
I mix these into the flock’s feed — chickens can’t taste the heat, so it doesn’t bother them one bit, and a 10-pound bag lasts a good long while. A longtime chicken-keeper staple.
For the Dogs
ACTIVE Pet Laundry Detergent & Odor Remover
Enzyme-based powder that actually gets the funk out of dog beds, blankets, and anything else that’s met a muddy paw or a drooly chin. HE-washer friendly, 64 loads.
LED Pet Nail Clippers for Dogs & Cats
Light-up clippers with a safety lock and a built-in file. The LED is meant to help you see the quick — and the chunky, well-marked design makes them easier to handle by feel, too.
Slow Feeder Maze Puzzle Dog Bowl (Large)
A maze-puzzle bowl that makes my big dogs actually work for their food — it slows down the speed-eaters, helps cut down on bloat, and gives them a little brain game at dinner. Non-slip base so it doesn’t skid across the floor.
Accessibility & Assistive Tech
The tools that help me run a homestead, and a household, without much eyesight.
Meta Ray-Ban (Gen 2) Smart AI Glasses
Honestly one of my favorite pieces of assistive tech. I can ask the built-in AI what’s in front of me, have it read labels and text out loud, and snap photos or video completely hands-free — all from a pair of glasses that just look like glasses. Up to 8 hours of use, plus more from the charging case.
More of my favorite tools coming as I go — drop me a note if there’s something you’re curious about.
